Securing Justice: Advice for the New Congress
EPS Symposium
A familiar slogan suggests that there is no peace without justice and no justice without peace. Much the same can be said of security, which appears to be both a prerequisite to real justice and a benefit of real justice. This year's annual Economists for Peace and Security symposium co-sponsored by the LBJ School of Public Affairs — Securing Justice: Advice for the New Congress — will focus on the deep interlinkages among peace, justice, and security along three dimensions: the economic, the social, and the global. It will query in particular how the new Congress that takes office next January can work to secure peace and justice in all three of those critical realms.
