David Colt currently serves as the co-chair of the Board for Economists for Peace and Security (EPS). Outside of EPS, David is a Partner at NGP Energy Capital, where he is developing and executing investment strategics along the theme of the energy transition. Prior to NGP, David was a Principal with Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) where he developed late-stage venture and growth equity strategies across clean energy, energy efficiency, and carbon capture and sequestration sectors. Prior to CPPIB, David was VP of Finance and Corporate Development at ChargePoint, a leading electric vehicle infrastructure solutions provider. Before ChargePoint, David established Efficient Resource Management, a Bay Area boutique advisory firm serving leading energy investors, developers, and technology companies. David began his career as an energy analyst at the Carbon War Room and the Prometheus Institute for Sustainable Development, where he covered global solar, fuel cell, and trucking sectors.
David is an active angel investor and advisor to innovative energy and transportation companies as well as non-profits, including kWh Analytics, Smart Wires, T-REX Group, Boston Materials, Ride.Report, Myst.ai, and Turntide.
