Dr. Allen Sinai is Chief Global Economist and President of Decision Economics, Inc., (DE) a global economic and financial markets forecasting, advisory, and investment management firm. Dr. Sinai was Managing Director and Chief Global Economist for Lehman Brothers (1983–1996) in New York before co-founding DE in 1996. Prior, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Economist at Data Resources, Inc. (DRI) (1971–83). He has been an economics professor at the University of Illinois, MIT, Boston University, New York University and Brandeis. Dr. Sinai has won numerous forecasting awards, including Top Forecaster-Wall Street Journal Survey (2006), USA Today Surveys (2005, 2003) and Top Guru Business Week (1997). He advised the Reagan, Clinton, both Bush Administrations, members of the Obama Administration; has consulted with central banks and policymakers around the globe; testified before Congress scores of times and advised private sector decisionmakers for decades. Dr. Sinai is perhaps the most widely cited economist ever in the news and visual media. He has contributed over 100 articles to the professional literature and made hundreds of speeches to audiences and conferences worldwide. Dr. Sinai holds a BA (Honors) in Economics from U of M and a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University.
